What attracts us to someone? What do our eyes reflect when they look back at us? How much is hidden?
Alexandra Thompson explores the personalities of five women in her photographs. Individual sessions gave the women the time and space to express themselves visually, to let their eyes and visage speak to the lens.
Tom Lohner expresses his own interpretation in his paintings. Having never met the women, he worked with written interviews and Alexandra’s photographs, seeing them from a new perspective. With the use of diverse media, he intricately wove a new tapestry of each woman.
And the two are enhanced by Thomas Hoeft’s literary essay….
Three interpretations of each subject come together to give us a more complete picture of these multi-faceted women, leaving us to consider what remains - the UNSEEN.
